Another type of defect that occurs during the manufacturing process of pressure vessels is the disconnection of the shell geometry, such as unevenness, joint angle deformation, etc. The performance of various rotary shells under the action of internal pressure is related to their radius of curvature. When two shells with different curvature radii are linked together, the deformations produced are also different due to different stresses. However, they restrain each other and thereby induce shear forces and bending moments at the junction.
Generally speaking, for depressions with large diameter and small depth, the changes in geometric shape are relatively gentle. The greater the amount of cold deformation, the greater the internal stress generated. Even if the residual internal stress on the vessel shell does not cause cracks, it will aggravate the fatigue cracking and stress corrosion cracking of the pressure vessel.
Cracks, overheating, deformation, leakage, etc. of the body, interfaces, and welded joints of the pressure vessel. Check the signal hole for liquid leakage, air leakage, and check whether the pipe is clear.
