The Fixed Tube Sheet Heat Exchanger is widely used for heat exchange between liquids or gases. Its main feature is that the tube sheets are welded to the shell, and the tube bundles are fixed to the tube sheets, making the unit non-removable.

Structural Composition

  1. Shell: The outer shell housing the tube bundle and guiding the shell-side fluid flow.
  2. Tube Bundle: Parallel-arranged heat exchange tubes, the core element for heat transfer.
  3. Tubesheet: Circular thick plates at both ends, used to fix the tube bundle and isolate the tube-side and shell-side media.
  4. Baffles: Baffles installed inside the shell to enhance the turbulence of the shell-side fluid, improve heat transfer efficiency, and support the tube bundle.
  5. End Caps/Tube Boxes: Components connected to both ends of the tubesheet, forming the inlet and outlet spaces for the tube-side fluid.
  6. Connecting Pipes: Inlet and outlet connecting pipes for the tube-side and shell-side fluids.

Cleaning Methods

  1. Tube Side: Mechanical brushing, high-pressure water jetting, or chemical cleaning can be used.
  2. Shell Side: Primarily relies on chemical cleaning, using circulating solvents or detergents.

 

Maintenance

  1. Regularly check the sealing of the tube sheet and tube connections.
  2. Monitor the shell-side pressure drop to assess scaling.
  3. For corrosive media, regularly check the tube wall thickness.
