Selection Considerations

1. Determine Heat Load: Calculate the required cooling power based on oil flow rate and temperature rise.

2. Select Cooling Medium: HEX is preferred if water cooling is available on-site; ACX is preferred if water cooling is unavailable.

3. Consider Environmental Factors: Explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant types are required for high-temperature, high-humidity, and explosive environments.

4. Match System Parameters: Ensure compatibility of working pressure, flow rate, and interface size.

 

Maintenance

1. Regular Cleaning: Clean the plates/fins every 2000 hours of operation or when pressure drop increases.

2. Leak Check: Focus on checking brazed joints and seals.

3. Temperature Monitoring: Ensure the temperature control switch setting is correct (usually 10-12°C higher than ambient temperature).

4. Replace Wear Parts: Replace fans, motor bearings, etc., according to the manual.

 

Precautions for oil-cooled coolers

 (1) When starting the oil-cooled cooler, do not open the water inlet valve quickly, because when a large amount of cooling water flows through the oil-cooled cooler, a layer will form on the surface of the heat exchange tube The "super-cooling layer" with poor thermal conductivity prevents the oil-cooled cooler from achieving good heat and cold exchange in the future.

(2) If electrochemical corrosion occurs on the water side, an anti-electrochemical zinc rod can be installed on the water side (in the reserved hole).

(3) The cooling water usually uses purified fresh water as the cooling medium. Prevent the formation of scale. The cooling water temperature should be as low as possible and the flow should be larger.

(4) The side pressure of the oil of the oil-cooled cooler should be greater than the water side pressure.

(5) In the cold season, when the oil-cooled cooler is not working, the cooling water should be drained to avoid freezing the cooling pipe.

(6) Oil-cooled coolers should be internally cleaned every 6-8 months.
