We recently completed the manufacturing and full factory acceptance of a batch of ASME U2 stamped pressure equipment destined for high-end overseas industrial projects. The entire batch strictly adhered to the ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 2 code; the equipment passed authorized inspections, comprehensive non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic testing, and documentation reviews, making it ready for shipment.
Unlike standard pressure vessels bearing the ASME U stamp (Section VIII, Division 1), ASME U2 stamped equipment utilizes the design-by-analysis method. This imposes higher standards for stress verification, fatigue assessment, material traceability, and manufacturing control. Such equipment is typically deployed in demanding operating conditions-characterized by high pressure, cyclic loading, or complex structures-and is widely used in sectors requiring the highest safety levels, such as petrochemicals, hydrogen energy, and oil & gas.

During the project's initial phase, our technical team conducted finite element stress analysis, wall thickness optimization, and structural verification. The entire production process was subject to rigorous quality control, including raw material re-verification, welding procedure qualification, multi-method NDT (UT, RT, MT, PT), necessary heat treatment, and witnessed hydrostatic testing. The U2 stamp was applied under the supervision of an authorized inspector, and a comprehensive Manufacturer's Data Report (MDR) was compiled to meet the import and filing requirements of overseas clients.
"ASME U2 equipment sets a high bar for engineering capabilities, quality management systems, and documentation integrity. Through design-by-analysis, precision manufacturing, and the delivery of fully traceable documentation, we meet the stringent requirements of global clients operating in critical conditions," stated our Chief Engineer. We offer a one-stop solution for ASME U2 non-standard pressure equipment, covering everything from design calculations, drawing approval, and manufacturing to inspection, testing, and the delivery of the complete ASME documentation package.

The successful completion of this project demonstrates our comprehensive capability to design and manufacture Class 1 and Class 2 pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Section VIII, Division 2. We serve the global market by undertaking U2 non-standard pressure equipment projects for the energy, chemical, refining, and new energy sectors. We support customization regarding materials, pressure ratings, and nozzle configurations, and can fulfill orders ranging from prototypes to mass production. We invite clients to submit drawings and project parameters to obtain a quotation.
