How to Record the Operating Status of Pressure Vessels

May 04, 2026

I. Basic Operating Core Information
Basic Time Information: The date the pressure vessel was first put into use; the specific dates of each start-up and shutdown; when operating conditions change, the change date and the parameters after the change must be recorded; for intermittent operation, the operating cycle must also be recorded.

Core Operating Parameters: Actual operating pressure and temperature, as well as the range and frequency of pressure and temperature fluctuations; liquid level, flow rate of inlet and outlet materials, and usage information must also be recorded.

 II. Complete Daily Operation Records
Must include dispatch instructions issued by the production command system (start-up plan, process parameter requirements, etc.); operation date and time, operator's name; operating and inspection status of the equipment body and safety accessories such as safety valves and pressure gauges; shift handover records, and all specific operation content during the shift (such as valve opening and closing, inspection time and content).

III. Specific Records of Anomalies and Faults When leaks, abnormal noises, or abnormal pressure/temperature occur during operation, a complete record must be kept: a description of the abnormal phenomenon, the time of occurrence, the duration, the handling measures taken, and the final result. If an accident occurs, the nature of the accident, the cause, personnel casualties and losses, and corrective and preventative measures must also be recorded.

IV. Archiving Requirements All records must be authentic and accurate, and cannot be altered arbitrarily. Any modifications must be signed and dated by the responsible person. Record books must be organized and archived monthly. Paper records must be retained for at least 3 years, and electronic records must be backed up regularly to meet the requirements of safety supervision inspections and accident tracing.
